Thanks for a $3,000 donation from Forestville Education Foundation (FEF), the school's fundraising partner, a 3-year-old yellow Labrador Retriever named Gretel became the school's most popular denizen at the outset of the 2025-26 academic year. Gretel, trained by Forestville-based nonprofit Paws As Loving Support (PALS) as a comfort dog, will provide emotional support, companionship and serve as an all-round BFF for students and staff until her planned retirement in 2031.
Help offset the cost of our investment and upkeep of Gretel, as well as support the other charitable work the FEF does to underwrite services for students and teachers in an era of dwindling governmental resources.

Gretel, Forestville's comfort dog, recharges from dispensing unconditional love and joyful companionship.

When it comes to students' issues, Gretel is all ears.
